Wanted Man Captured by K9 and Arrested After Dramatic Chase
Rochdale, UK - A 31-year-old man wanted for making threats to kill was apprehended in a Rochdale back garden on Saturday, April 19th, following a dramatic chase involving a police car ramming attempt and the keen nose of a police dog named Harley.
The pursuit began when a sergeant from the Heywood Neighbourhood Team spotted the suspect. After initially losing sight of the vehicle, the officer located the suspect at his home address, still inside the car.
According to Greater Manchester Police, the suspect then attempted to ram the police car, with the officer still inside, after noticing the police presence. He subsequently fled the scene, driving over a pedestrianised area in an attempt to evade capture.
Abandoning the vehicle, the suspect made a run for it. However, his escape was short-lived thanks to the efforts of police dog Harley. The K9 successfully tracked the suspect to a nearby back garden, where he was apprehended.
A search of the suspect revealed a large bag containing cannabis, snap bags, and a mobile phone. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs, in addition to the initial warrant for making threats to kill and the dangerous driving offences.
The man remains in custody where he is being questioned regarding the incident. Greater Manchester Police have yet to release further details on the case.
